Pork is the most popular meat in Romania and is in a variety of traditionall dishes such as Mititei (sausage made of pork, lamb, and beef) and Sarmale (minced meat with rice rolled in grapevine leaves or pickled cabbage.
Breakfast is usually eggs, cheese, bread and coffe.
Lunch, the biggest meal of the day traditional begins with a soup called ciorba and is followed wtith meat, potatoes, and salad.
Dinner is similar to lunch with smaller servings.
Two popular desserts are baked pumpkin (“Dovleac copt”), one of the healthiest desserts, and Papanash (Papanași), a fried donut made with sweet cheese and blueberries.
